About Robert Howard
Robert C. Howard Jr. is a seasoned family law attorney based in Scottsdale, Arizona, with over 40 years of experience. He has been a member of the State Bar of Arizona since 1976. His practice focuses on divorce and family law matters, including child custody and support — He is affiliated with the Arizona State Bar's Family Law Section. In 2008, the State Bar of Arizona recognized him as one of the top 50 pro bono attorneys in the state.
The Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce inducted him into the Scottsdale Historymakers Hall of Fame in 2011. He served as President of the Scottsdale Bar Association from 1985 to 1986 and received the Award of Excellence for Community Service in 2006. The Maricopa County Bar Association honored him with the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2000 and the Longevity Award for Outstanding Performance in 2014 for his dedication to the Family Law Assistance Program. Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Howard has been actively involved in community service. He helped establish a monthly legal assistance program at the Paiute Neighborhood Center, where members of the Scottsdale Bar Association provide free legal services once a month.
He initiated an annual fundraising breakfast for the Center and collaborated with the Scottsdale Charros to offer Scottsdale School students lunch and a few hours at the stadium during the spring training season. He also served on the negotiation team for the Charros, resulting in long-term contracts with the San Francisco Giants. Mr. Howard has held leadership roles in several organizations. He served as President of the Scottsdale Charros, the Partners for Paiute Neighborhood Center, and the Scottsdale Education Foundation. He was a member of Class I of Scottsdale Leadership and later served on that Board and as President from 1992 to 1993.
He was honored with the Frank Hodges Leadership Award in 1999, the Charro of the Year Award in 1988, and the Charro Lifer of the Year Award in 2002. In his personal life, Mr. Howard enjoys playing poker, tennis, and slow-pitch softball. He and his wife, Kathy, have been married for 23 years and spend weekends at their cabin in Prescott. They have a son, two stepsons, and five grandchildren.
