About Robert Edwin
Robert Edwin McCann built a legal career that began in the late 1980s and stretches into the present. He earned a J.D. from Widener University Commonwealth Law School in 1989 after completing a B.A. in economics and psychology at Swarthmore College in 1985. Those years set a foundation in analytical thinking and practical problem solving.
He entered private practice in the early 1990s. His early roles included positions as an associate at Holl & Associates, P.C., and later at Coffey & Kaye. Over time he moved into principal and partner roles. He served as a principal at Marks, O’Neill, O’Brien & Reilly, P.C. in 2002 and at McCann & Villari, P.C. in 2004. In 2005 he became a partner at McCann & Wall, LLC.
In 2021 he helped establish McCann, Dillon, Jaffe & Lamb, LLC and is listed as a founding partner. That step marked another phase in a career defined by steady advancement through firm ranks. His experience spans decades of courtroom work and firm management. He has handled matters in state and federal venues and has litigated at different levels, including appellate practice in the Third Circuit.
McCann is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the Supreme Court of New Jersey, the federal Third Circuit, and state bars in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He maintains memberships in a wide range of professional organizations. These include the Pennsylvania State Bar, the New Jersey Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and local bar associations in Philadelphia, Delaware County and Montgomery County. He is also a member of groups oriented toward trial practice, such as the American Association for Justice, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, the New Jersey Association of Justice, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and The National Trial Lawyers – Top 100 Trial Lawyers.
He keeps office presence across the region, operating law offices in Philadelphia, New Jersey, Montgomery County, Delaware County and Wilmington. Colleagues describe him as an experienced trial lawyer who has spent years navigating litigation responsibilities and firm leadership roles. He continues to try cases and manage client matters in both state and federal courts. He currently practices civil litigation in state and federal courts.
