About Richard

Richard Marmon brings a dual professional life to his practice: law and accounting. He trained as a lawyer and as an accountant. That combination shapes how he looks at business problems.

He earned his J.D. from Widener University Delaware School of Law and pursued an LL.M. at Villanova University School of Law. He also holds an MBA from LaSalle University. Those degrees give him a mix of legal theory and business training.

Before turning to private practice he completed the certifications that tie his two disciplines together. Marmon is a Certified Public Accountant through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a Certified Management Accountant through the Institute of Management Accountants, Inc. The certifications complement his legal qualifications and inform his approach to financial and tax matters.

He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and maintains current memberships in both state bars. That regional qualification lets him advise clients who operate across state lines and deal with multi-jurisdictional issues. He has handled matters that require both a legal and an accounting perspective, including tax compliance, corporate reporting and regulatory inquiries.

Marmon is Of Counsel at Reger Rizzo & Darnall LLP. In that role he draws on both legal training and accounting credentials to counsel clients and support firm litigation and transactional work. Because of his background he often works on engagements where financial detail matters — for example, corporate restructurings, tax planning and disputes that hinge on financial records. He collaborates with colleagues from different practice groups and with outside financial experts when cases call for it.

Colleagues describe his approach as practical and detail-oriented. He tends to break complex problems into concrete steps. He writes and reviews financial analyses, prepares regulatory filings and helps structure transactions so they align with tax and accounting rules.

Outside the office, Marmon’s professional affiliations keep him involved in continuing education and bar activities in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He has kept up with changes in tax law and accounting standards that affect corporate clients and trustees.

He continues to advise businesses, accounting professionals and legal teams, applying both his J.D. and his accounting certifications to the issues his clients bring. His current practice focuses on matters at the intersection of law, tax and financial reporting.
