About Richard A
Richard A Quitiquit earned a B.A. in political science from Hampden‑Sydney College in 2006 and a J.D. from Charleston School of Law in 2011. His academic path started in the early 2000s and led quickly into public service. The sequence is straightforward: undergraduate study, law school, then work in county commonwealth offices.
Soon after law school he began work as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Lawyer. His first posting was with the Halifax County Commonwealth’s Lawyer in 2011. The next year he moved to Hanover County and served as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Lawyer there. Those early years placed him in the circuit court setting and inside the routines of county prosecution. He handled courtroom calendars, prepared cases for trial, and worked alongside elected Commonwealth’s Attorneys.
In 2013 he became one of the owners of Jurach, Tacey & Quitiquit. The move marked a shift from a government role to private practice and firm management. As a firm owner he took on responsibilities beyond casework, including client intake, supervision of other lawyers, and the administrative tasks that come with running a small law practice. The firm lists offices in Hanover, reflecting the local base he built during his time as a county lawyer.
Quitiquit maintains active ties to the local bar. He has been a member of the Hanover County Bar since 2012 and of the Henrico County Bar since the same year. Those memberships reflect the geographic focus of his practice and the courtrooms where he has spent much of his career. He is admitted to practice in Virginia and has spent his professional life working in the state’s county and circuit courts.
Today his work is grounded in trial practice and courtroom procedure. Clients and colleagues describe him as practical in approach and direct in court. He balances case preparation with the day‑to‑day demands of the firm he helped form. He remains based at Jurach, Tacey & Quitiquit, PLC and continues to handle matters that arise in Virginia’s trial courts.
He currently practices at Jurach, Tacey & Quitiquit, PLC, where his practice focuses on courtroom litigation in Virginia state courts.
