About Riane

Riane White earned both her J.D. and an LL.M. from Washington University School of Law in 2019 after completing a B.S. at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2016. She took a concentrated course of study in law school that combined classroom work with practical legal writing and research. The dual degree shaped how she approaches complex problems and gave her time to explore multiple areas of the law before joining private practice.

Her career moved quickly from academic study to courtroom preparation and client work. After graduating in 2019 she joined Silverman Thompson as a lawyer. She is admitted to practice in Maryland and has worked from the firm’s offices since joining. Those early years at the firm involved a mix of litigation preparation, drafting motions, and counseling clients through procedural steps.

At Silverman Thompson her daily work blends research and advocacy. She prepares pleadings, handles discovery, and supports courtroom strategy when cases proceed to trial. She also participates in client conferences and settlement discussions. Colleagues describe her as thorough in legal analysis and steady under the pressures that litigation brings. She often takes on the detailed factual and legal groundwork that cases require.

Her educational background continues to inform her practice style. The LL.M. year allowed for concentrated study and deeper engagement with doctrinal material. That additional academic work complements the practical training she received in clinic settings and during internships while at Washington University and Illinois. She applies those skills to organize complex documents, brief nuanced legal issues, and help shape legal arguments the firm advances on behalf of clients.

Today she practices at Silverman Thompson in Maryland. Her caseload includes matters the firm handles for both individual and organizational clients. She represents clients through the phases of litigation, from intake and investigation to preparing papers for court and discussing potential resolutions. Her current practice focuses on representing clients in matters handled by Silverman Thompson in Maryland.
