About Rena Marie

Rena Marie Harrison graduated from San Joaquin College of Law, earning her J.D. in 2019. She completed the law program after several years of study beginning in 2015. The law degree set the stage for a quick transition into day-to-day legal work in California.

She joined Hammerschmidt Law Corporation as a law clerk in 2018. In that role she handled legal research, drafted memoranda and assisted in preparing court filings. Those tasks gave her practical exposure to case management and the rhythms of litigation practice. In 2020 she moved into an associate lawyer role at the same firm, taking on expanded responsibilities for client matters and courtroom preparation.

Across her early career she concentrated on the substantive and procedural tasks that underpin litigation. She spent time preparing pleadings and discovery, supporting motion practice and organizing evidence for hearings. She has worked on filings in state court matters and is admitted to practice in California and before the federal district court, which broadened the range of cases she could support and, as an associate, handle.

Harrison is active in local professional circles. She has been a member of Fresno County Women Lawyers since 2020. That affiliation has offered continuing legal education and networking opportunities with other lawyers in the region. She participates in events and meetings that address developments in practice and the administrative aspects of running litigation files.

Colleagues describe her as steady and exacting in the office. She prefers clear, direct work: research that answers the question at hand, pleadings that track the governing rules, and client communications that set realistic expectations. Her path from law clerk to associate at the same firm reflects a steady accumulation of courtroom and office responsibilities rather than abrupt change.

She continues to practice at Hammerschmidt Law Corporation. Her recent work involves preparing cases for trial and managing litigation matters in California and in the federal district court where she is admitted. She remains based at the firm and handles a range of litigation tasks for clients there.
