Martin Taleisnik is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1994. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Taleisnik is the Managing Attorney at Sawl Law Group, a law firm located at 2150 Tulare Street, Fresno, California. He has been practicing law for over 31 years, serving clients throughout the Fresno area and surrounding counties in Central California.
Mr. Taleisnik earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1990. He then attended the University of Oregon School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree in 1994. During his time at UCLA, he developed a strong foundation in the sciences, which has been beneficial in his legal career, particularly in cases involving complex medical and scientific issues.
Mr. Taleisnik concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal defense and personal injury law. He represents individuals in matters involving DUI offenses, theft, robbery, sexual assault, and other criminal charges. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts. In personal injury cases, he advocates for clients who have been injured due to accidents, seeking compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
Throughout his career, Mr. Taleisnik has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Fresno, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to rejoining Sawl Law Group in 2006 as the Managing Attorney, he worked as a partner in a two-attorney criminal defense practice, gaining extensive experience in both misdemeanor and felony cases.
Mr. Taleisnik is an active member of the Consumer Attorneys of California, the California DUI Lawyers Association, and the California Public Defenders Association. He is fluent in Spanish, allowing him to effectively serve the diverse communities of Fresno County.
