About Ravi
Ravi Patel completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned a B.A. in history in 2010. He went on to attend Duke University School of Law and received his J.D. in 2014. His academic path combined a broad liberal arts background with three years of formal legal training, a sequence that shaped his approach to legal research and analysis.
After law school, Patel moved into public-sector practice. He served as a Deputy City Lawyer for the City of Oakland in 2019, a role that placed him inside municipal government. In that position he advised city departments, handled regulatory questions, and participated in litigation and administrative proceedings on the city’s behalf. The job required quick legal judgments and regular interaction with policymakers and department leaders.
In 2020 he founded the Law Office of Ravi Patel. He runs the practice as a solo practitioner, managing both the legal and business sides of the firm. The office handles case intake, client counseling, and litigation preparation. Patel’s background in municipal law informs his work and the way he evaluates client issues.
Patel is licensed to practice in California. He retains memberships in bar-related associations and professional groups, and he continues to engage with colleagues in the state legal community. He has combined courtroom work with advisory assignments, balancing contested matters and preventive legal counsel.
Colleagues describe Patel as methodical in his preparation and straightforward in his courtroom approach. He writes memoranda, prepares motions, and appears before judges and administrative tribunals. His experience in municipal government gives him perspective when representing public clients or private parties affected by local regulation.
He maintains a practice based in California and accepts matters that draw on his municipal and civil litigation background. His current practice focuses on representing clients in civil matters and advising municipal clients.
