About Kevin R.
Kevin R. Martin earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School at Loyola Marymount University in 1994. He joined the State Bar of California the following year and began building a practice grounded in private firm work and legal education. The law degree and early bar admission set the course for a career spent largely in California courts and boardrooms.
He entered private practice shortly after admission. In 1996 he worked as a lawyer at Hopkins & Carley, gaining experience in firm-based practice. He spent time teaching as well; in 1999 he served as an instructor of business law at the University of Phoenix. That role kept him connected to legal education while he continued to handle client matters.
In 2000 Martin moved to Coudert Brothers, taking on additional responsibilities as a lawyer in a different firm environment. Two years later he became a partner at Randick O Dea & Tooliatos, a step that marked his transition into senior firm roles. The partner title reflected growing experience in managing cases and contributing to firm strategy.
He returned to the partner track again in 2009 at Patton Martin and Sullivan, where he carried the responsibilities typical of an equity partner. In 2012 he founded Martin APC and took on the title of Founder and President. That move established him as the lead lawyer at his own firm and placed him in the role of administrator as well as practitioner.
Across his career Martin has maintained active membership in several professional organizations. He is a member of the Alameda County Bar Association and the Santa Clara County Bar Association. He also belongs to the American Bar Association and the International Trademark Association, and he remains an active member of the State Bar of California since 1995. His professional affiliations reflect involvement at both local and national levels.
Colleagues and clients see a lawyer who has navigated both firm hierarchies and the responsibilities of running a firm. He has balanced practice, teaching, and firm leadership over three decades. He is admitted to practice in California and conducts his work from Martin APC, where he leads the firm and manages its legal practice in the state.
