About R. Scott

R. Scott Costantino earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Florida. He completed a B.S. in Business Administration in 1981 and received his J.D. in 1985. Those years shaped an early interest in courtroom practice and trial procedure.

After law school he built a practice based in Florida. Over decades he handled civil trials and related litigation. He pursued certification in trial work and earned recognition from two different credentialing bodies: Civil Trial Law certification from the Florida Bar and Civil Trial Advocate certification from the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Those credentials reflect an emphasis on courtroom advocacy rather than transactional work.

Costantino has been active in professional organizations that center on trial practice. He is a Fellow of the International Society of Barristers and holds membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the Florida Justice Association and the Chester Bedell Inn of Court. These affiliations place him in circles that exchange trial technique, case law developments, and ethics discussions.

His courtroom experience has been a throughline of his career. He has taken cases through jury trials and has worked on complex civil litigation matters. Over time he balanced jury work and pretrial strategy, preparing cases for trial while handling motion practice and settlement negotiations when appropriate.

The Costantino Law Office, P.A. is the vehicle for his current practice. The firm reflects a singular approach: try to win in court when the facts and law support it, but also make pragmatic choices about resolution when that serves a client’s interests. The office handles civil litigation across the state and draws on Costantino’s certifications and trial background.

Colleagues describe him as someone who spends time on trial preparation and evidence. He participates in professional groups that emphasize trial technique and courtroom advocacy. That activity keeps him current on evolving trial practices and procedural developments in Florida courts.

Outside the courtroom he returned often to legal education forums and Inns of Court gatherings. Those venues offer structured critique of trial advocacy and ethics. They also provide a setting to mentor younger lawyers and to test courtroom arguments in small-group settings.

He remains licensed to practice in Florida and maintains memberships in national and state trial organizations. His current practice centers on civil trial work and litigation representation in Florida.
