About R. Daniel
R. Daniel Gibson earned his B.A. in government from Campbell University in 2012 and completed his J.D. at Wake Forest University School of Law in 2015. He came to law school after an undergraduate program that emphasized public institutions and civic affairs. The timing of his degrees placed him in courtroom and firm settings early in his legal training.
During law school he worked inside the judicial system and in private practice. In 2014 he served as a Supreme Court intern for Justice Paul Newby, a position that exposed him to appellate procedure and opinion drafting. That same year he held a litigation internship with Spilman, Thomas & Battle, where he assisted on discovery and motion practice. Those experiences informed his approach to case preparation and courtroom work.
After graduation Gibson moved into associate roles at several North Carolina firms. He joined Cannon Law Offices as an associate in 2015. Two years later he took an associate position at Cary Law. In 2018 he began working at Stam Law Office, where he remains on staff. His practice has involved working on client matters across firm settings, adapting to the procedural demands of different courts and clients.
Gibson holds professional legal research certifications from both Westlaw and LexisNexis. He has maintained active involvement in professional and civic groups. He is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and has been affiliated with the Federalist Society and the Christian Legal Society since 2015. Locally, he became involved with Rotary activities in Rowan County and Cary, and he served on the board of Salisbury Families First in 2016.
Those memberships reflect a pattern of engagement outside the office as well as inside it. Colleagues describe him as someone who arrived at the practice with courtroom exposure from internships and then sought steady experience in firm settings. His work history shows a steady progression from internships to associate roles across multiple firms in North Carolina.
He continues to practice in North Carolina and remains based at Stam Law Office. He maintains his legal research credentials and participates in bar and civic organizations. He currently practices at Stam Law Office, where he handles litigation matters and related client work.
