About R. Anthony
R. Anthony DeLuca earned a B.A. from Boston College in 1994 and completed his J.D. at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1997. He graduated law school with membership in the Order of the Coif, an academic honor that marked his entry into the legal profession.
He began his post-law school work as a law clerk in 1997, serving chambers for Justice Frank J. Montemuro and for Superior Court Judge Maureen Lally-Green. That early exposure gave him a front-row view of appellate decision-making and courtroom procedure. In 1999 he moved to the Allegheny County District Lawyer's Office as an assistant district lawyer, where he handled courtroom duties for the county and gained practical trial experience.
In 2005 he joined DeLuca, Ricciuti & Konieczka and has served there as a managing lawyer. Over the years he has balanced casework with the administrative responsibilities that come with running a smaller firm. Colleagues note that his background includes both courtroom advocacy and the everyday management tasks required to operate a law practice in a regional market.
DeLuca’s professional memberships reflect sustained involvement in the criminal defense community. Since 2012 he has been a participant in the DUI Defense Lawyers discussion group and a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers discussion group. He is also a member of the Sole and Small Firm Legal Practitioners of Allegheny County and has held membership in the Allegheny County Bar Association since 2005. Those affiliations align with the experience he developed early in his career and the practice patterns at his firm.
He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and in West Virginia, and his work has been anchored in the courts of those states. Over the course of his career he has moved between public service and private practice, carrying lessons from the courtroom into his work at the firm.
Colleagues and clients see him as a lawyer who combines courtroom experience from his years in the Allegheny County prosecutor’s office with the case management demands of private practice. He remains active in local and national professional groups that concentrate on criminal defense and DUI matters. He practices at DeLuca, Ricciuti & Konieczka, concentrating on criminal defense, including DUI cases.
