About R. Andrew

R. Andrew Jones is an Alabama attorney who earned his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2013. He completed undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. While in law school he served as an Associate Editor of the Cumberland Law Review, an experience that exposed him to complex legal writing and editorial responsibilities.

Jones is licensed to practice in Alabama. He is active in several professional organizations, including the Birmingham Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, and the Alabama Association for Justice. Those memberships place him in regular contact with colleagues across the state and the nation, and they provide forums for trial practice updates, continuing legal education, and peer dialogue.

His post-law school trajectory led him to join Cory Watson Lawyers. There he has worked alongside other litigators on matters brought before Alabama courts. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing filings and steady in court. He has handled tasks that range from drafting pleadings to participating in depositions and hearings. He maintains a practical approach to casework and places emphasis on clear communication with clients and opposing counsel.

In the courtroom and in motion practice, Jones relies on a foundational legal training born of both classroom and journal work. His time with the Cumberland Law Review sharpened his attention to detail and reinforced habits of careful citation and analysis. Those skills carry over into his litigation work, where written submissions and precise legal argument often determine procedural outcomes.

Outside the office, Jones remains involved with local legal communities. His membership in the Birmingham Bar Association keeps him connected to bar-led initiatives and local bar activities. At the same time, participation in national and state plaintiff-oriented associations allows him to monitor trends in litigation strategy and trial advocacy.

He continues to practice at Cory Watson Lawyers, representing clients in matters filed in Alabama courts and participating in trial and pretrial processes. His current practice is centered on serving clients through courtroom representation and litigation-related services in Alabama.
