About Pressley

Pressley Henningsen studied philosophy before turning to law, earning a B.A. from the University of Iowa in 1994 and a J.D. from the same school in 1996. His academic grounding in logic and argument framed the early years of his legal career and continues to inform his courtroom work.

He began practice immediately after law school as an associate at Schoenthaler, Roberg, Bartelt & Kahler, PC in 1996. Three years later he moved into partnership at Stanley, Lande & Hunter PC, a step that shifted his responsibilities from supporting roles to leading case strategy and client representation. In 2006 he joined RSH Legal as a partner, where he remains on the firm’s leadership team.

Henningsen has built a practice centered on trial work. He is admitted to practice in Iowa and before the Eighth Circuit. Over decades in the courthouse he has handled contested matters that require courtroom preparation, jury work and oral advocacy. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing evidence and direct in courtroom presentation.

Professional associations have been a steady part of his career. He served as president of the Iowa Association for Justice from 2012 to 2013. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a status he has held since 2017, and he participates in the American Association for Justice Leaders Forum. He completed the Trial Lawyers College program in 2015 and has served on its F Warrior Board since 2017.

Those affiliations reflect a long-running interest in trial technique and professional development. He has balanced organizational work and litigation practice, taking leadership roles in state and national groups while maintaining an active caseload. The records show steady advancement from associate to partner and sustained involvement in groups that center on trial advocacy.

Henningsen’s practice at RSH Legal continues in 2026. He handles cases in state and federal court and remains active in bar and trial organizations. He currently focuses his practice on civil trials in Iowa and before the Eighth Circuit.
