About Ann
Ann Brown built a steady legal practice grounded in courtroom work and consumer protection matters. She combines trial experience with years of involvement in professional organizations. Colleagues describe her as practical and thorough; clients have relied on her for cases that require attention to both technical detail and advocacy.
She earned a B.A. in politics from Cornell College in 2001. She then attended the University of Iowa College of Law, receiving her J.D. in 2004. Those years shaped her interest in litigation and public-interest law, and they provided the foundation for her later work in civil cases.
After law school she entered private practice and began handling civil litigation in Iowa courts. She is admitted to practice in Iowa and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Over time her caseload has included toxic tort matters and other complex civil claims. Membership in the American Association for Justice’s Toxic Torts Section reflects that area of practice, and it has kept her connected to developments in litigation strategy and scientific issues relevant to such cases.
Brown has been active in local and state bar groups for much of her career. She joined the Linn County Bar Association in 2004 and has served on its charitable contributions committee. She is a member of the State Bar of Iowa and has belonged to the American Bar Association since 2004. Since 2014 she has held a board position with the Iowa Association for Justice, a role that has involved governance and outreach on behalf of trial lawyers in the state.
Her office, Ann Brown Legal, PC, handles matters that require courtroom preparation and trial-ready files. She prepares pleadings, deposes experts and non-experts, and manages discovery in complex civil cases. Her practice involves both state and federal court work in Iowa, reflecting her admissions and the types of disputes her clients bring.
Outside the office she has remained connected to professional networks that address trial advocacy, rules of civil procedure and scientific issues that arise in toxic tort claims. That network supports her practice and provides a forum for staying current on litigation trends. She continues to lead cases through all stages of litigation and to represent clients in contested hearings and appeals.
Her current practice centers on civil litigation, including toxic tort cases and other trial-level matters in Iowa and the Eighth Circuit.
