About Philip
Philip Wagler graduated from Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2010. He completed his J.D. there and entered the legal profession at a time when cross-border practice between states was becoming increasingly common. The Maurer School of Law provided a foundation in core legal doctrine and practical skills, which informed his early work.
After law school, Wagler began practicing in jurisdictions where he holds admission: Indiana and Florida. Over the years he has handled matters that require attention to state statutes, procedural rules and client counseling across two distinct legal systems. He has worked on both transactional matters and contested proceedings, adapting courtroom strategies and negotiation approaches to fit each jurisdiction’s expectations.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in case preparation. He tends to break complicated issues into manageable parts. That trait has been useful when cases involve statutes and regulations from more than one state. He also spends time preparing clients for hearings and meetings, aiming to make legal options clear and understandable.
Wagler has been active in professional circles in both states. He maintains memberships in local bar groups and attends continuing legal education programs to keep current on changes in law and procedure. That ongoing engagement helps him respond to shifts in legislation and court decisions that affect clients on either side of state lines.
In practice, he balances litigation and transactional work. He handles disputes that require formal filings and court appearances as well as matters that are resolved through negotiation or drafting. His case load reflects the realities of representing individuals and businesses whose legal needs cross municipal and state borders.
Outside the office Wagler takes a practical approach to professional development. He participates in seminars and peer discussions rather than relying on a single area of specialty. That breadth allows him to advise on a variety of issues and to team with other lawyers when cases call for niche knowledge.
As of 2026 he continues to practice law in Indiana and Florida, representing clients in matters that involve state-level litigation and transactional work. His current practice focuses on advising and representing clients in civil matters across both jurisdictions.
