About David G
David G Crell built his path to law on a foundation in the liberal arts. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University Bloomington in 2006, where he studied anthropology and political science. He went on to complete his Juris Doctor at Michigan State University College of Law in 2009, concentrating on litigation and trial practice. He is admitted to practice in Indiana and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Crell began his legal career in public service. In 2010 he served as a deputy prosecutor in the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office. That work put him in court regularly and gave him direct exposure to trials, evidentiary rulings and courtroom procedure. Those early years forged his approach to case preparation and courtroom advocacy.
In 2014 he stepped into private practice and into a leadership role as managing partner at Andrews & Crell. As managing partner he oversaw case strategy and daily operations while continuing to handle matters in court. Colleagues describe him as attentive to the practical demands of litigation and steady in managing clients through contested proceedings.
Outside the office he has been active in the local bar. He has served as president of the Wells County Bar Association since 2015 and has taken part in bar activities and meetings in the region. That local involvement has kept him connected to county-level practitioners and judges and has informed his view of how trial practice plays out in community courts.
Crell divides his time between the firm’s Fort Wayne and Bluffton offices. He brings trial experience from his years as a prosecutor into his work for private clients. He is comfortable in the courtroom and in complex pretrial work, and he regularly handles matters that require careful litigation planning. He also maintains the federal appellate credential that allows him to appear before the Seventh Circuit when a matter advances beyond the trial court.
His practice remains centered on litigation at the trial level and in appellate settings, representing clients in contested proceedings and advising them on courtroom strategy.
