About Peter Owen
Peter Owen Francescon earned his Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law in 2003. He completed his legal education at a time when the profession was changing rapidly. The degree provided a foundation in courtroom procedure, statutory analysis, and legal research that has informed his later work.
Francescon built his practice through steady engagement with client matters and courtroom responsibilities. He serves as an attorney at Boyce & Leahy, Lawyers. In that role he has handled a range of legal tasks common to firm practice: counseling clients, drafting pleadings and agreements, and representing parties in hearings. Colleagues and clients see him as someone who attends closely to the factual record and the applicable law.
He approaches each matter with an emphasis on clarity. He breaks complex problems into manageable parts and communicates options in plain language. That method helps clients make informed decisions. It also guides how he prepares for hearings and negotiations — thorough preparation, attention to detail, and a disciplined review of precedent and procedure.
Francescon’s background in legal research and writing, gained during his years in law school and refined in practice, shapes how he frames arguments. He favors direct, well-supported positions over elaborate theory. When litigation is necessary he focuses on building a coherent narrative supported by evidence. When disputes can be resolved outside the courtroom he seeks practical resolutions that reflect the client’s priorities.
Outside of casework, he maintains professional relationships within the legal community. He participates in the regular work of the firm and contributes to case strategy and client intake. Those internal contributions support the firm’s operations and help newer attorneys on staff learn through example.
At Boyce & Leahy, Lawyers, Francescon takes responsibility for the matters assigned to him and works to move them forward in a timely way. He currently practices law at Boyce & Leahy, Lawyers, representing the firm’s clients and managing a caseload that reflects the firm’s overall practice areas.
