About Peter N.
Peter N. Munsing has built a long career that centers on courtroom work and civil litigation. He earned a B.A. in history from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (B.A. 1972), a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center (J.D. 1975) where his studies emphasized individual rights, and an LL.M. in Trial Advocacy from Temple University Beasley School of Law (LL.M. 1996). Those credentials reflect formal training in trial techniques and a grounding in the substantive law that shapes contested cases.
Early in his career he took advantage of a District of Columbia court rule that allowed law students to appear for clients in court, gaining practical experience before joining the bar. He later founded The Law Offices of Peter N. Munsing, P.C., where he serves as a principal and trial lawyer. Over the years he has tried matters in state and federal courts and has maintained a practice built around litigation and court appearances.
Mr. Munsing is admitted to practice in a broad range of forums. His admissions include the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Claims, and multiple federal circuits: the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Circuits. He is also licensed in several states, including Pennsylvania, Maryland, Massachusetts, Connecticut and the District of Columbia. That range of admissions allowed him to pursue cases that cross state lines and to appear in federal appellate courts when necessary.
Professional associations have been a constant in his career. He has been a member of the American Bar Association since 1974 and joined the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Association for Justice in 1982. He is also a long-time member of both the Berks County Bar Association (since 1987) and the Chester County Bar Association (since 1988). He has held memberships in the American Association for Justice since 1984 and previously belonged to the Monroe County Bar Association (1997–2015) and the New Jersey Association for Justice (2017–2018).
Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who concentrates on courtroom preparation and the mechanics of trial. He has combined formal trial training with decades of practice in state and federal settings. He tends to take cases that require litigation experience and an ability to move a matter through the court system.
He continues to lead The Law Offices of Peter N. Munsing, P.C., handling litigation matters in courts where he is admitted. His current practice focuses on civil litigation and trial representation.
