About Peter
Peter Montefusco built a legal path that begins in the classroom and moves quickly into private practice. He earned a B.A. in philosophy from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2006 and completed his J.D. at Washington and Lee University School of Law in 2009. Those academic years set a pattern of steady professional progress.
After law school, Montefusco joined the Maryland legal community. He is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia. He became a member of the Maryland State Bar Association in 2009 and has maintained that affiliation since then.
Early in his career he worked as a contract lawyer for Ciena Corporation in 2010. The role involved drafting and reviewing contractual documents for a corporate client. The following year he served as a lawyer at Baxter, Baker, Sidle, Conn & Jones, gaining experience in a small firm setting and the day-to-day demands of client representation.
In 2013 he founded Montefusco Estate Planning, LLC. He is the firm’s owner and continues to practice under that name. Running a small practice has required him to handle both the substantive legal work and the business tasks that keep a firm operating. The office is listed as a home office, reflecting a lean, client-centered setup.
His practice emphasizes estate planning. He prepares wills and trusts, advises on probate matters, and helps clients arrange their affairs for the transfer of assets. He also assists with documents commonly used in end-of-life planning. Clients range from individuals preparing basic estate documents to families with more detailed trust arrangements.
Colleagues describe him as practical in approach and attentive to procedural detail. He maintains professional ties inside Maryland’s bar association and practices across state lines in the District of Columbia. That dual admission has allowed him to serve clients whose matters cross jurisdictions.
Montefusco balances an active practice with the administrative responsibilities of running a small firm. He continues to serve clients from his home office and focuses his current practice on estate planning and related probate matters.
