About Peter

Peter Arcese built a steady legal path from classroom to courtroom to private practice. He earned his J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 1988, then returned to academia to complete an LL.M. in Taxation at New York University School of Law in 1993. The combination of a general law degree followed by specialized tax study shaped the areas he would practice in later.

He began practicing law in 1989, listed simply as Lawyer & Counselor at Law. That early work laid the groundwork for a career practiced under his own name. Over the years he has practiced in New York, where he holds licensure to appear in state courts. His educational background in taxation has been a constant reference point for his work on estate and tax matters.

Arcese belongs to a range of professional groups that reflect his interests. He holds memberships in the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association. He is also affiliated with the New York City Bar Association, the Estate Planning Council of New York City, the Philanthropic Planning Group of Greater New York, and the International Association of Holistic Lawyers. Those memberships place him in conversations about estate planning, philanthropy and alternative approaches to legal practice.

Colleagues and clients see him primarily on matters where tax and estate law intersect. He handles planning for estates, works through tax considerations for individuals and families, and engages on charitable planning questions. His LL.M. in Taxation is part of what guides his approach to complex tax issues tied to personal and philanthropic planning.

He maintains offices listed under the name Peter V. Arcese, Esq. He continues to practice in New York, advising clients on estate planning, tax matters, and philanthropic arrangements. His current practice focuses on estate planning and tax issues in the New York jurisdiction.
