About Patrick

Patrick Scarlett built a path to law from an unexpected starting point: physics. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Notre Dame in 2005, then broadened his studies overseas in 2008 at the University of Salamanca where he took intensive business and Spanish language training. He returned to South Carolina and completed both an International MBA and a Juris Doctor at the University of South Carolina in 2009.

Scarlett's early work experiences spanned law offices and corporate settings. Fresh out of his undergraduate degree he worked as an office assistant at Dority & Manning, P.A. in 2005. The next year he served as an IP consultant with Scarlett Surveys International and took a law clerk post at BMW Manufacturing Co., LLC. Those roles exposed him to the practical demands of intellectual property and corporate operations before he moved into more traditional legal internships.

While in law school he worked as a law clerk for the South Carolina Bar and completed summer associate stints at Sowell Gray Stepp & Laffitte, LLC in 2007 and at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, LLP in 2008. Those placements gave him hands-on experience in litigation and firm practice environments, shaping his approach to client work and case preparation.

He is admitted to practice in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. He has maintained an active bar presence for more than a decade and has held membership in the North Carolina Bar Association since 2010. His professional network reflects both regional practice and a background that crosses corporate and litigation settings.

Scarlett's practice blends elements from his varied resume. His physics training lends a methodical approach to fact analysis. His work with a manufacturing client and as an IP consultant contributes practical insight into technical and product-related legal questions. Time spent in different firm environments provided a foundation in case management and client communication.

He currently practices at George Sink, P.A. Injury Lawyers, where he applies those combined experiences. His caseload centers on personal injury matters, where he handles fact investigation, case development and courtroom preparation. He focuses his practice on personal injury matters.
