About Justin J.
Justin J. Arenas built an academic foundation that spans environmental studies, social sciences and law. He earned a B.A. in Environmental Studies at George Washington University’s Mount Vernon campus, followed by an M.A. in Social Sciences from The Citadel. He then completed his legal education at Charleston School of Law.
After law school, Arenas secured admission to practice in South Carolina and later gained the credential to appear before the U.S. Supreme Court. He holds memberships in several professional organizations, including the Charleston County Bar, the South Carolina Bar and the South Carolina Association for Justice. He is also a member of the American Association for Justice and the Academy of Truck Accident Lawyers.
Those affiliations reflect the kinds of cases he handles. Arenas works chiefly in personal injury and civil trial work. He represents people who have been hurt in vehicle collisions, including commercial truck accidents. Members of the Academy of Truck Accident Lawyers often concentrate on high-impact collisions and the complex liability questions they raise; Arenas’s involvement places him among lawyers who exchange technical and tactical information on those matters.
His practice blends investigation, negotiation and courtroom advocacy. In individual cases he reviews accident reports, consults with experts and pursues damages on behalf of injured clients. He appears in state courts across South Carolina and, when appropriate, in higher forums enabled by his U.S. Supreme Court admission. He also coordinates with other counsel when cases cross state lines or involve federal issues.
Arenas operates out of The Derrick Law Office Injury Lawyers, PC. There he joins other trial lawyers who handle motor vehicle collisions, premises liability and wrongful death matters. The office manages discovery, files motions and prepares cases for trial when settlements do not resolve disputes.
Outside litigation tasks, Arenas participates in bar and trial lawyer groups that provide continuing legal education and professional exchange. He maintains active memberships that keep him connected to developments in personal injury law and trial practice.
He continues to practice in South Carolina, representing people injured in collisions and pursuing remedies on their behalf. His current practice focuses on personal injury litigation, including commercial truck accidents and related civil claims.
