About Patrick Matthew
Patrick Matthew Mcnelis grew up academically inclined toward the humanities and law. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and English from the State University of New York College at Geneseo in 2000. He went on to study at SUNY Buffalo Law School, completing his Juris Doctor in 2007 after three years of study.
After law school, Mcnelis entered private practice. His career path took him into the New York legal market, where he has since worked on matters before state courts and in other legal settings common to private practice. He joined Goldstein, Ackerhalt & Pletcher, LLP, where he has been part of the firm’s bench of attorneys handling client matters. Over time he has developed practical courtroom and office experience that comes from regular practice in the state.
Mcnelis is admitted to practice in New York. He has been involved in professional activities and memberships since the late 2000s, reflecting ongoing engagement with the legal community. Colleagues describe him as steady in the courtroom and methodical in preparation. He approaches casework with attention to factual detail and to the procedural requirements of New York practice.
His legal training in both American studies and English informs his approach to legal writing and analysis. That combination of liberal arts and professional legal education shapes how he prepares briefs, examines documents and frames arguments. He draws on those skills when evaluating evidence, drafting pleadings and advising clients about options available under state law.
At Goldstein, Ackerhalt & Pletcher, LLP Mcnelis handles a range of matters that arise for individuals and businesses in New York. He works alongside partners and other associates on litigation and transactional projects. His daily practice involves courtroom procedure, client counseling and the drafting of substantive legal documents.
Outside the office, he remains connected to the legal profession through continuing education and association activity. He maintains his New York bar membership and keeps current on developments that affect practice in the state. He currently practices law in New York at Goldstein, Ackerhalt & Pletcher, LLP, handling matters arising under New York law.
