About Parker
Parker Stinar began his legal path soon after college. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University in 2008 and completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2011. Those years shaped his early approach to the law: methodical, practical and tied to the Detroit region where he would build his career.
His first notable role came in 2012 when he served as legal counsel for Marketplace Homes. The position put him inside a corporate legal department and offered a different view of legal work than the typical firm setting. A year later he moved back into private practice as an associate at McKeen & Associates, PC, gaining exposure to client-facing matters and courtroom procedure. Those formative experiences set the stage for his later work at a larger regional firm.
He joined Sommers Schwartz P.C. as an associate lawyer, where he remains employed. Over the course of his career he has handled matters that required appearances in both state and federal court. He is admitted to practice in Michigan and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. That dual admission has been relevant to cases that cross state and federal lines and to clients who require representation in different forums.
Stinar participates in the legal community through professional associations. He holds memberships in the Michigan Association for Justice, the American Association for Justice, and the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association. Those memberships reflect an interest in staying connected to developments in litigation practice and in maintaining professional ties across the region.
Colleagues describe him as a practitioner who moved steadily from in-house counseling to firm-based litigation work. His background includes both corporate legal tasks and associate-level responsibilities at plaintiff-oriented firms. He maintains an active caseload at Sommers Schwartz P.C., where his work involves matters in Michigan and in federal court. He is currently an associate at Sommers Schwartz P.C., and his practice focuses on litigation in Michigan state and federal courts.
