About Pacer
Pacer Udall is an Arizona lawyer who practices patent law and participates in state-level legal and environmental organizations. He studied at Arizona State University, earning a Bachelor of Science, and then returned to ASU for his legal training at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law. That combination of technical and legal education shaped his early interest in intellectual property and regulatory work.
Early in his career he worked as a researcher at Arizona State University. That role kept him close to technical development and academic inquiry. It also prepared him for the procedural and evidentiary demands of patent practice. He moved from research into private practice, joining Schmeiser, Olsen & Watts LLP as a registered patent lawyer and senior associate where he handled patent matters for a range of clients.
Udall later joined Booth Udall Fuller, PLC as a registered patent lawyer. In both law firm roles he focused on the mechanics of patent prosecution and the counseling that supports it. His background gives him practical insight into how technical projects intersect with intellectual property law. He approaches patent files with attention to detail and an understanding of both legal standards and technical specifications.
Outside the office he has served in leadership positions within the State Bar of Arizona’s Intellectual Property Section. He is a current member of that section and previously served as its chairman. He also spent a decade on the section’s Executive Council. Those years on the council involved organizing educational programs and advising on policy matters affecting IP practitioners in Arizona.
Udall maintains memberships in the J. Reuben Clark Law Society and the Arizona Management Society, Arizona chapter. He also takes part in public environmental work; he has served as Co-Chairman for the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality since 2004. That role intersects with regulatory law and community-facing environmental initiatives in the state.
Colleagues describe him as steady in proceedings and precise in written filings. He balances the demands of transactional and regulatory work by staying engaged with professional groups and local agencies. He lives and works in Arizona and continues to practice patent law at Booth Udall Fuller, PLC, handling patent prosecution and related intellectual property matters.
