About Noah

Noah Pines studied law at Emory. He earned his J.D. in 1995 after completing a B.A. at Emory University in 1992. The two degrees anchor a career that began immediately after law school and has remained tied to Georgia courts and communities.

Pines started his legal practice in public service. In 1995 he joined the DeKalb County Solicitor General’s Office as an assistant solicitor. Three years later he moved to the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office, serving as an assistant district lawyer beginning in 1998. Those early roles placed him in courtrooms regularly and gave him hands-on experience in prosecuting a range of matters.

In 2002 he entered private practice as a partner at Ross & Pines, LLC. Over two decades at the firm he has handled both pretrial and trial work. His background on both sides of the aisle—prosecution and defense—shaped the cases he takes and how he prepares for trial. Colleagues and opposing counsel often note that his courtroom time is extensive, a reflection of the years he spent in county offices before moving to private practice.

Pines belongs to several professional organizations that reflect his continuing ties to Georgia’s legal community. He has been a member of the Atlanta Bar Association since 2001 and of the DeKalb Bar Association since 1995. He is also a contributing member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, a group he joined in 2001. Since 2014 he has been listed among the National Trial Lawyers Association’s Top 100 Lawyers, a recognition that remains current in his professional profile.

His work centers on trial practice in Georgia. Clients and partners describe his approach as straightforward. He prepares cases for trial and argues them in state courts. He handles arraignments, motions, plea negotiations and full trials, often in DeKalb and neighboring counties. He draws on years of courtroom experience and on relationships developed across the local legal community.

Outside of court he participates in bar activities and professional gatherings in Atlanta and DeKalb County. He continues to live and practice in the area where his career began. He is a partner at Ross & Pines, LLC, where his practice concentrates on criminal defense and trial advocacy in Georgia.
