About Nicole A.
Nicole A. Kobis built her legal foundation at American University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts, and then at Rutgers School of Law–Newark, where she completed her Juris Doctor. Her time in law school included practical courthouse experience. Those early experiences shaped how she approaches the work that follows her through each courtroom and conference room.
Her first substantive exposure to judicial decision-making came in 2010, when she served as a judicial intern for two trial judges, Thomas Moore and Paul Vichness. She returned to the judiciary in 2012 as a law clerk to the Honorable Katherine Dupuis, P.J.F.P., at the Superior Court of New Jersey. The clerkship offered regular contact with written opinions, pretrial matters and courtroom procedure. It also gave her a close look at how judges weigh competing legal arguments and factual records.
In 2013 she joined Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper, P.C. as a lawyer. That step marked her transition from the courthouse staff to private practice. At Lindabury she has handled matters that bring her before both state and federal tribunals. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York and is also admitted to the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Kobis maintains ties to the local legal community. She is a member of the Union County Bar Association and the New Jersey State Bar Association. Those affiliations provide regular contact with colleagues and continuing legal education opportunities that keep her current on procedural changes and emerging legal developments.
Colleagues describe her work as steady and rooted in courtroom procedure and case preparation. Her earlier clerkship experience continues to inform her approach to drafting motions, preparing witness examinations and managing case timelines. She brings that perspective to each file she handles, whether in conference or at a hearing.
She practices at Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper, P.C., handling matters in New Jersey and New York state courts and in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
