About Nicolas D

Nicolas D Grimwood took an indirect route into the law. He studied history as an undergraduate, earning a B.A. from College of the Ozarks in 2008. That background left him attuned to context and detail; he returned to school a few years later and received his J.D. from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2014.

After law school he entered private practice and built a practice across state lines. He is admitted to practice in Oklahoma and in Missouri. Over the years he has handled courtroom work and transactional matters, giving him experience on both sides of the bench. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing cases and straightforward in court.

Grimwood’s work has included litigation and client counseling. He has represented individuals and businesses in state courts and in administrative settings. He has prepared pleadings, managed discovery, tried cases and negotiated resolutions. He also handles contractual and compliance issues for organizational clients. That mix of courtroom and office work shapes how he approaches a file: assemble the facts early, test the legal theory, and plan the procedural steps.

He moved into firm leadership as a partner and owner. In that role he has overseen case strategy, mentored junior attorneys and managed client relationships. Managing a practice brought administrative duties alongside legal ones. He has navigated staffing decisions, client intake priorities and the day-to-day demands of running a law office while maintaining an active caseload.

Outside the office Grimwood has stayed connected to legal circles in both Oklahoma and Missouri. He holds membership in professional associations in those states. Those connections keep him current on developments in state law and on procedural practice.

Clients and peers note his preference for clear explanations over legalese. He tends to outline options plainly, sketch likely timelines and highlight the key decisions a client will face. That practical orientation informs both litigation planning and transactional drafting.

He currently serves as a partner and owner, representing clients in matters across Oklahoma and Missouri.
