Nick A. Sailer followed a steady course from economics into business law. He began his academic career at the University of Northern Iowa, earning a degree in economics in 2014, and later completed a J.D. in Business Law at Drake University in 2020. Those years laid a practical groundwork for transactions and firm-side practice.
After college, Sailer worked in the private sector as an insurance agent and registered representative for Farm Bureau Financial Services in 2017. That role exposed him to client counseling and regulatory matters outside the courtroom. He moved into legal work during law school, taking on law clerk positions that introduced him to litigation support and firm operations.
In 2021 he served as a law clerk at Simpson, Jensen, Abels, Fischer & Bouslog, P.C., then spent 2022 as a law clerk at Lipman Law Office. Both placements added hands-on experience in research, drafting, and case preparation. While still a student in 2023, he took part in the Drake Entrepreneurial & Transactional Clinic as a student lawyer, a role that involved transactional projects for small businesses and startups.
Upon completing his education, Sailer began practicing at Roberts & Eddy, P.C. in 2023. He maintains professional ties through the Iowa State Bar Association, where he has held membership since 2023. He is licensed to practice in Iowa and has built his early practice around matters that intersect business and insurance issues.
Sailer’s background in economics, combined with a business law curriculum and clinic experience, shapes how he approaches client work. He handles transactional tasks, contract matters, and serves clients who need counsel on business-related concerns. His prior role as an insurance agent informs his understanding of policy and coverage questions. He currently focuses his practice on business and transactional matters and insurance-related issues.
