About Joseph R

Joseph R Casey built his academic foundation at Baylor University, where he studied Classical Greek and earned a B.A. in 2014. He went on to study law at Drake University Law School, completing his J.D. in 2018. Those years shaped his approach to research and argument. They also set the stage for a career that has moved between private practice and federal litigation.

After law school, Casey joined Beus Gilbert McGroder PLLC in 2020. He worked on matters that required courtroom readiness and an ability to manage complex filings. In 2022 he moved to Harding Law Offices, where he continues to practice. His path has included appearances and filings at multiple levels of the federal system.

Casey holds admissions across several federal jurisdictions, including the Eighth Circuit, the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court, in addition to his Iowa bar membership. He maintains an active role in the Iowa State Bar. Those admissions allow him to handle appeals and high-stakes federal matters when they arise.

He has pursued additional training that aligns with the technical and procedural challenges of modern litigation. Casey earned a Certificate in Multi-District Litigation from the Bolch Judicial Institute at Duke University Law School. He is also a Certified Forensic Cryptocurrency Investigator through the McAffee Institute. Both credentials reflect a practice that engages with complex procedural structures and emerging forms of digital evidence.

Colleagues describe his work as methodical. He prepares filings with attention to procedural detail and spends time on factual development. He has experience managing multi-district procedural requirements and preparing appellate briefs for federal courts. That combination of procedural knowledge and technical investigation is a recurring aspect of his caseload.

At Harding Law Offices, Casey handles federal litigation, appellate matters, and cases that raise cryptocurrency-related evidentiary questions. He represents clients in contested proceedings and prepares appellate filings in the federal courts to which he is admitted. He is an active member of the Iowa bar and continues to develop his courtroom and technical litigation practice.

He currently represents clients at Harding Law Offices and handles federal appeals, multidistrict litigation matters, and cases involving forensic cryptocurrency investigation.
