About Nicholas M.
Nicholas M. Krebs earned his undergraduate degree from Ohio State University in 2012 and completed his J.D. at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2015. Those years established the academic foundation he would use in courtrooms and boardrooms. The combination of a Midwestern undergraduate education and a Los Angeles law degree shaped his early professional choices.
He began his legal career in the judiciary, serving as a judicial law clerk at the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles in 2015. The clerkship put him behind the bench and inside written opinions. It also offered a close view of trial procedures and judicial decision-making, experience that attorneys often cite when they move into litigation roles.
After his time at the courthouse, Krebs joined private practice. In 2017 he worked as a lawyer at Cypress LLP. Two years later he moved to Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani LLP, where he became senior counsel in 2019. Those positions trace a steady progression from early associate work to a senior role within a national firm.
Krebs is admitted to practice in California and before the Ninth Circuit, and he is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, admitted in 2016. He maintains membership in the Los Angeles County Bar Association and serves as chairperson of the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association. That leadership position places him in regular contact with other lawyers who handle patent, trademark and related technology disputes.
His experience spans both public and private sectors. The clerkship gave him exposure to civil procedure and trial management. In private practice he has attended to client counseling and courtroom matters. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing filings and attentive at hearings. He has handled matters that required briefing at different levels of the federal system, including the Ninth Circuit.
Outside court filings and hearings, Krebs participates in bar activities and professional programs in Los Angeles. His role with the Intellectual Property Law Association involves organizing panels and engaging local practitioners on developments in IP law and federal practice. He appears regularly at meetings and contributes to the discussions that help practitioners keep pace with case law and procedural changes.
Krebs practices at Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, LLP, where he handles intellectual property matters and related litigation work.
