About NiaLena
NiaLena Caravasos began her legal path after completing undergraduate studies in multinational management and marketing at the University of Pennsylvania in 1984. She earned her J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1990. Those academic foundations set the stage for a career that spans state and federal practice.
Caravasos holds admissions to the bar in both Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. She is also admitted to practice before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Those credentials reflect work across trial and appellate levels and in both state and federal forums.
In 2009 she established the Law Office of NiaLena Caravasos, LLC. She runs the firm as its owner and principal attorney. The record shows steady engagement in litigation, and the firm takes cases that require courtroom presence as well as appellate advocacy. Her admissions to higher federal courts allow her to carry matters beyond the trial court when necessary.
Her professional memberships underscore a practice centered on criminal defense and trial work. She maintains memberships in the Federal Bar Association’s Criminal Law Committee, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Association of Federal Defense Lawyers. She is also a member of local bar organizations including the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
Caravasos holds places in invitation-only organizations that focus on trial advocacy and legal excellence. These include The National Trial Lawyers and its Criminal Trial Lawyers Association, the American Society of Legal Advocates, and the American Institute of Criminal Law Lawyers. She is also a member of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia’s Section on Medicine, Ethics & the Law, a sign that some of her matters intersect with health-care and medical-legal questions.
Her practice blends trial preparation, courtroom litigation and appellate briefing. She represents clients in criminal matters at the trial level and takes appeals when issues require higher court review. Her federal admissions enable representation in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and before the Third Circuit, and she can appear in the U.S. Supreme Court when cases rise to that level.
Today she continues to lead the Law Office of NiaLena Caravasos, LLC, handling criminal cases, federal matters and legal issues that involve medical-ethical considerations in both trial and appellate settings.
