About Micah
Micah Gonzalez built his path to practice through law school coursework and a string of practical placements. He earned a J.D. from Belmont University College of Law in 2023 and completed an Entertainment & Music Business Law Certificate there. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Management from Cumberland University. He added a CIPP/US certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals while still a student, signaling an interest in data and privacy issues.
Gonzalez’s legal education mixed classroom study with hands-on experience in the Nashville legal community. During law school he interned with the Nashville Predators and with boutique music and entertainment practices. Those internships exposed him to licensing, contract drafting, and artist-management arrangements. Earlier placements included work at Legal Aid of Gallatin and small regional firms, where he handled intake, legal research, and client communications on a range of civil matters.
After graduation he moved into clerk positions and short-term practice roles that expanded his responsibilities. He served as a law clerk at Roger, Shea & Spanos and at Frazer PLC. Those roles involved research, drafting pleadings, and supporting litigation and transactional matters. In 2023 he took a lawyer position at Rockridge Venture Law. The combination of clerkships, internships, and a certificate program shaped a practical base in both transactional and regulatory work.
Gonzalez’s mix of entertainment-industry experience and a privacy credential informs the kinds of matters he handles. He has worked on contracts for creative professionals, assisted with licensing issues, and supported privacy and data-protection reviews. His time at Legal Aid and small firms also gave him exposure to everyday client counseling and procedural practice, including client intake, drafting, and negotiating on behalf of individuals and small organizations.
He is licensed to practice in Tennessee and is based in the state’s legal market. At Rockridge Venture Law he advises clients on issues that commonly arise at the intersection of business formation, creative industries, and data privacy. He currently practices at Rockridge Venture Law, where his work centers on venture-related transactions, entertainment and music industry matters, and privacy compliance.
