About Nathan Edward
Nathan Edward Fitzpatrick studied political science at the University of Tennessee, where he earned a B.A. in 2004. He stayed in the Southeast for law school and received his J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law in 2009. Those years set the pace for a career that moved quickly from public service to private practice.
He began his legal career in the public defender’s office in Dekalb County in 2009. As an assistant public defender he handled a range of criminal matters and gained early trial experience. That front-line courtroom work shaped his approach to litigation and client advocacy.
In 2011 Fitzpatrick entered private practice as a partner at Ghiaasiaan & Fitzpatrick, LLC. The transition expanded his docket and exposed him to a wider array of civil and criminal cases. Two years later he took on a leadership role as managing lawyer at Fitzpatrick Firm, LLC, a position he has held since 2013. In that role he has overseen case strategy, supervised other attorneys, and managed day-to-day operations of the firm.
Fitzpatrick is admitted to practice in Georgia. He is a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, joining that organization in 2020. The association membership complements the courtroom work that marked his early years and continues to inform his practice. His background in the public defender’s office and the subsequent years in private practice give him experience on both sides of the courtroom aisle.
Colleagues describe Fitzpatrick as pragmatic and direct in court. He favors clear preparation and prefers to test arguments in front of juries when cases require it. That emphasis on trial readiness has been a consistent theme in his career, from county courtrooms to more complex litigation in private practice.
He currently practices at Fitzpatrick Firm, LLC, where his practice centers on trial litigation and courtroom representation.
