About Nate
Nate VanDerVeer earned his J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law in 2004 after completing a bachelor’s degree in political science at Auburn University in 1999. He began his legal studies during a period of steady change in state and federal practice, and his education provided a foundation for a career spent in private firm practice in Alabama. The law school years remain the clearest early marker of his path into law.
His professional record shows steady movement through regional firms. In 2009 he joined Freese & Goss as a lawyer. Six years later he moved to Farris, Riley & Pitt, LLP, where he continued in a lawyer role beginning in 2015. Those positions gave him experience in firm-based practice and exposure to a range of client matters typical of Alabama firms of that size.
In 2018 he took a position with Goldasich, Vick & Fulk. That stint preceded a decision in 2022 to launch his own firm. He is listed as founder and partner of Bodewell Legal Group, a firm he established to shape how he handles cases and clients. The step into firm leadership marked a transition from employee to principal.
Throughout his career he has been licensed to practice in Alabama. His work history reflects years spent in private practice across multiple firms and in a leadership role at his own firm.
