Nancy Barron is a retired attorney who was admitted to the California State Bar in 1981, holding. She was a founding partner at Kemnitzer Barron & Krieg, a law firm specializing in consumer protection, based in San Francisco, California. Throughout her career, she focused on civil litigation, particularly in areas such as lemon law, auto fraud, and unfair debt collection practices. Her practice encompassed all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Ms. Barron earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly Hastings College of the Law) in 1981. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at Stanford University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1973. During her time at Stanford, she was a Fulbright Scholar in Germany from 1974 to 1975 and served as a judicial extern to the California Supreme Court in 1981.
Ms. Barron concentrated her practice in consumer law, handling cases involving products liability, appeals, and lemon law. She represented individuals and businesses in matters related to defective vehicles, dealer fraud, and other unfair and deceptive business practices. Her practice encompassed all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout her career, Ms. Barron handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of San Francisco, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She was also admitted to practice before the California Supreme Court. Prior to founding her own firm, she worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in San Francisco for several years.
Ms. Barron was an active member of the National Consumer Law Center, serving on its Board of Directors. She was also a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates, where she served as Co-Chair of the Board in 2004 and as Editor in Chief of its publication, The Consumer Advocate, from 2000 to 2003. She was fluent in English and German, allowing her to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
