About Ms. Marybeth

Marybeth Sampsel built a foundation in the humanities before turning to the law. She earned a B.A. in history from the University of Montana–Missoula in 2001. Four years later she completed her J.D. at Rutgers University–Camden, finishing law school in 2005.

She practices in Montana. In 2008 she joined the Lonnevik Law Office as an associate, entering private practice in the state. That role gave her early experience working directly with clients and participating in day-to-day litigation and transaction work typical of a regional firm.

A year after arriving at Lonnevik, she moved into a leadership position. In 2009 she became a partner at Measure, Robbin, & Wilson P.C. Her name appears on firm filings and she has taken on responsibilities that come with partnership, including mentoring younger lawyers and sharing in the management tasks that keep a firm operating.

Her professional life has remained anchored in the practical demands of private practice. Over time she has managed case preparation and client counseling, and she has been involved in matters that require both courtroom presence and negotiated resolutions. Colleagues describe her work as steady and detail-oriented, the kind of practice that depends on methodical preparation more than theatrical argument.

Sampsel’s background in history informs a measured approach to problem solving. That undergraduate study encouraged a habit of looking for context and precedent. In the legal setting she applies that habit to documentary evidence and the timelines that often determine how a matter unfolds.

Outside of the firm titles and case lists, she has kept a steady focus on representing individuals and businesses in Montana’s legal system. She has remained based in the state since completing her education, continuing to practice under the Montana bar. Her career reflects a steady progression from associate to partner, and a practical orientation toward the work of a regional law practice.

She continues to practice law in Montana as a partner at Measure, Robbin, & Wilson P.C., where her current practice centers on client representation and firm matters.
