About Mr. Thomas
Mr. Thomas SanFilippo built his legal identity from classroom to courtroom. He earned a J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law after completing undergraduate studies in history and geology at Miami University of Ohio. Those academic foundations shaped the way he approaches evidence and narrative in contested matters.
He began practicing in Missouri and gained admission to the Missouri State Bar in 2010. Early years in practice led to federal court admissions, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri in 2012, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois in 2015. He is also a member of the Missouri Association of Trial Lawyers and has maintained active standing in state and federal bars.
SanFilippo opened his own firm after accumulating trial experience and managing complex files. He serves as owner and principal at The Law Office of Thomas SanFilippo & Associates, LLC, where he oversees case strategy, courtroom preparation, and client counseling. His practice allowed him to try cases, handle pretrial motions, and pursue negotiated outcomes on behalf of clients.
Recognition for his work arrived early in his career. In 2015 he was named a Best Lawyer by the Riverfront Times and was nationally ranked among the Top 10 under 40 by the National Academy of Personal Injury Lawyers. These honors reflect peer and community notice of his courtroom activity during that period rather than any single high-profile matter.
Peers describe SanFilippo as the kind of trial lawyer who attends to detail and prioritizes clarity in argument. He balances the procedural demands of federal practice with the practical pressures clients face after injury or loss. He has maintained courtroom admissions across state and federal venues to give clients access to multiple forums when litigation requires it.
Outside the courtroom he stays connected to trial practice circles through bar and trial lawyer associations. He keeps abreast of procedural changes in federal courts and developments in Missouri law that affect civil claims.
He manages a small team at his firm and remains actively engaged in litigation and case management. He concentrates his practice on personal injury and civil litigation matters in Missouri and in the federal courts where he is admitted.
