About Mr. Robert J.
Mr. Robert J. Nahoum earned his juris doctorate from Albany Law School of Union University in 2001 after completing a bachelor’s degree at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 1997. He moved from law student to practicing attorney in the years that followed and built a practice that spans both state and federal courts. The legal training he received at Albany provided the foundation for a courtroom-centered career.
Early academic years pointed toward public practice. The liberal arts curriculum at SUNY Plattsburgh preceded law school and helped shape his approach to complex factual and legal problems. His time at Albany Law School coincided with the turn of the century. He graduated into a legal market that demanded practical courtroom skills and an ability to manage contested matters across jurisdictions.
Nahoum is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. He is also admitted in multiple federal courts, including the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, Northern and Western Districts of New York, and he has appellate admission in the Third Circuit. That range of admissions reflects a practice that regularly moves between trial dockets and appellate filings.
He is a partner at The Law Offices of Robert J. Nahoum, P.C., where he handles litigation and represents clients in contested matters. His role at the firm involves courtroom appearances and the preparation of pleadings and briefs for both state and federal forums. Colleagues describe his approach as direct and courtroom-oriented; he tends to handle the litigation tasks that follow filing and case development.
Membership in the National Association of Consumer Advocates signals an involvement in consumer protection issues and related litigation. That association connects him to a network of attorneys who litigate on behalf of individuals in disputes with financial institutions and other businesses. His work has often required appearances in federal court and requires familiarity with both procedural and substantive consumer law doctrines.
He maintains offices in Brooklyn and New York City, including an office at 48 Burd Street. From those locations he conducts litigation for clients across the region and files matters in the federal and state courts where he is admitted. He currently concentrates on litigation in state and federal courts, including consumer protection matters.
