About Adam
Adam Yohanan took a conventional route into law but arrived with an interdisciplinary bent. He graduated from Tulane University in 2012 with a double major in economics and philosophy. That combination fed into a legal education at Georgetown University Law Center, where he completed his J.D. in 2019 and studied business law. Those years set the foundation for work on transactional and regulatory questions that tend to arise at larger firms.
He began his legal career in 2019 as an associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP. The role placed him in a high-volume firm environment, working alongside teams that handle corporate and commercial matters. In 2021 he moved to Milbank LLP as an associate, continuing to handle matters typical of large law practices. In 2022 he left the firm model and opened his own practice, Yohanan Law, where he serves as principal lawyer.
Yohanan is licensed to practice in New York and maintains memberships in several bar organizations. He is a member of the New York City Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Brooklyn Bar Association. Records indicate at least one professional membership beginning in 2020 that continues to the present.
The arc of his career reflects a shift from associate roles at established national firms to founding and running a smaller practice. That move meant trading layers of firm structure for direct responsibility for client relationships and case management. It also allows him to draw on earlier work in corporate and business-related legal contexts while shaping the types of matters his practice will take on.
His undergraduate studies in economics and philosophy appear often in his approach to problems. The economics training supports attention to transactional detail and financial implications. The philosophy background informs the way he frames legal questions and structures arguments. Yohanan maintains an active New York law license and continues to participate in local and national bar associations. He has practiced in-house at major firms and now manages his own firm. He currently practices as principal at Yohanan Law, handling business-related legal matters in New York.
