About Mr Eric
Mr Eric Malveau began his path to law in Baton Rouge. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Louisiana State University in 1999. He stayed in state for law school and received his Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans in 2003.
He moved quickly into practice after law school. In 2003 he operated as Eric E. Malveau, Lawyer at Law. The following year he joined the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office as an assistant district lawyer, gaining experience on the prosecutorial side of criminal cases. In 2006 he served as a staff lawyer at the Orleans Public Defenders Office, representing clients facing a range of criminal charges. Those back-to-back roles gave him exposure to both sides of criminal litigation early in his career.
In 2012 he opened Malveau Law Office, L.L.C. He is listed as lawyer and owner of the firm. Running a small firm broadened his responsibilities. He handled case preparation, client counseling, and courtroom appearances. He has worked in trial settings and in pretrial proceedings. The combination of prosecutorial and defense work informed how he approaches investigations and case strategy.
Outside of the office he maintains memberships in local professional organizations. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the New Orleans Bar Association. Those affiliations connect him to continuing legal education and to the legal community in New Orleans and statewide. Colleagues and clients who have worked with him note a practical, straightforward manner in court and in meetings.
Today he practices from Malveau Law Office, L.L.C. His practice draws on years spent on both sides of criminal matters and on courtroom experience in Orleans Parish. He accepts matters in Louisiana and continues to work on cases that require trial preparation, client representation at hearings, and negotiation in criminal proceedings.
