About Mr. Ari Scott

Ari Scott Casper earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1998. He entered the legal profession after completing his studies and built an early career in public service. Those formative years set the tone for a practice that balances courtroom work with counsel and case development.

Casper served as an Assistant United States Lawyer in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland. In that role he handled federal matters and appeared in federal court. The position exposed him to grand jury practice, pretrial litigation and trial procedures. Colleagues from that period describe a lawyer accustomed to high-volume dockets and the procedural demands of federal practice.

He is licensed to practice in both Maryland and the District of Columbia. Those admissions allow him to move between state and federal matters in the region. Over time he has taken that licensure and courtroom experience into private practice, where procedural timing and litigation strategy remain central to his work.

After leaving the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Casper transitioned to private practice and opened The Casper Firm, LLC. The firm is built around counsel, litigation and courtroom representation. He applies the routines of federal practice—case preparation, motion practice, and trial advocacy—to the matters the firm accepts. The office handles filings and appearances across the DMV area, and maintains relationships with courts in both Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Clients and peers note a pragmatic approach to legal problems. Casper tends to break complex cases into manageable stages. He prepares for hearings with close attention to evidence and procedural posture. The work is often detail-driven, and his background in a federal prosecutor’s office shapes how he evaluates risk and prepares argument.

Outside the courtroom he has worked on case development and client counseling. Those activities include assessing potential claims, coordinating with experts, and managing discovery timelines. He remains engaged in the day-to-day demands of litigation rather than in administrative or nonprofit legal leadership.

He currently practices at The Casper Firm, LLC, handling matters that arise under both federal and state law in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
