About Mr. Andrew
Mr. Andrew Legrand built his legal foundation at Loyola University New Orleans, where he earned his Juris Doctor. He arrived at law school after undergraduate study and left prepared for courtroom work. His time at Loyola placed him in the New Orleans legal community and set the stage for a career centered on litigation and appellate practice in the region.
Legrand launched his own firm in 2011. He founded Spera Law Group, LLC and has been associated with the office since then. The choice to start a firm reflected a desire to shape how cases are handled and to create a small practice that could respond directly to client needs.
He is admitted to practice in Louisiana and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Those admissions allow him to pursue matters in state courts and to take appeals to the federal appellate level. Over time he has handled trial matters and appeals, often moving cases from one stage to the next on behalf of clients.
Peers and colleagues describe him as practical in the courtroom and meticulous in case preparation. He favors careful briefing and tends to prioritize clear legal argument over theatrical presentation. That approach has guided his practice since the early years of Spera Law Group.
Outside the courtroom he has remained connected to the local legal community. He keeps up with developments in Louisiana law and federal appellate decisions that affect the Fifth Circuit. That attention to precedent informs how he evaluates cases and shapes litigation strategy.
Spera Law Group under his leadership has handled a range of matters that have required both trial advocacy and appellate work. The firm presents itself as a small, focused practice able to take a case from initial filing through appeal when necessary. Legrand manages day-to-day practice while remaining involved in the writing and argument that define appellate work.
As of 2026 he continues to practice at Spera Law Group, LLC, appearing in Louisiana courts and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and handling matters that require trial and appellate advocacy.
