About Monica
Monica Yates built her academic foundation at Rutgers University, where she earned a B.A. in 2000. She went on to New York Law School and received her J.D. in 2004. Those years shaped her legal training and prepared her for practice in New Jersey. She is a current member of the New Jersey State Bar.
After law school, Yates entered legal practice in the tri-state area and developed experience across the kinds of matters commonly handled by regional law firms. She took roles that exposed her to both courtroom procedure and transactional work. Over time she moved into advisory and senior-level positions that drew on her years in practice.
Yates serves as Of Counsel at Savo, Schalk, Gillespie, O Grodnick & Fisher, P.A. In that role she brings an experienced perspective to the firm’s caseload. Her contributions include advising colleagues, assisting with case strategy, and counseling clients on issues that arise under New Jersey law. She is involved in matters that require an understanding of state court practice and regulatory considerations.
Colleagues describe her as methodical in approach. She combines attention to detail with a steady courtroom presence when litigation requires it. Outside the courtroom she spends time preparing documents, reviewing contracts and filings, and guiding less-experienced attorneys through procedural and substantive questions. Her practice reflects the mixed demands of a general litigation and transactional environment.
Yates maintains an active membership in the New Jersey State Bar. That affiliation keeps her connected to continuing legal education and the professional standards that govern practice in the state. She participates in firm strategy meetings and contributes to client development through referrals and collaborative work inside the firm.
Her approach to cases is practical and centered on resolving client issues within the framework of New Jersey law. She remains based in the state and handles matters that arise locally. She currently practices as Of Counsel at Savo, Schalk, Gillespie, O Grodnick & Fisher, P.A., where her work focuses on the legal matters handled by the firm.
