About Edward A.
Edward A. Halpern began his legal journey at Rutgers. He earned a B.A. from the university and returned to complete his J.D. at Rutgers Law School in 1970. That degree set the clock on a career that now spans more than half a century. He entered the profession at a time of rapid change in the law and has practiced through many of its shifts.
After law school, Halpern built a practice that reaches across state lines. He is admitted to the bars of New Jersey, New York and the District of Columbia. Over the years he has applied his training to a wide range of matters. His work has taken him into courtrooms, negotiation rooms and into routine transactional work. He has held both frontline and advisory roles as his career evolved.
For a significant portion of his career Halpern has served in counsel roles. He is Of Counsel at Savo, Schalk, Gillespie, O Grodnick & Fisher, P.A. In that position he provides legal advice to clients and supports the firm’s attorneys on complex issues. His tenure in such roles reflects long-term engagement with the law rather than a single narrow practice area.
Halpern also maintains active memberships in professional associations in each jurisdiction where he is admitted. He belongs to the New Jersey State Bar, the New York State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar. Those memberships have kept him connected to evolving rules and standards across three jurisdictions. They also offer networks for continuing legal education and professional exchange.
Colleagues and clients encounter a lawyer grounded in classroom training and decades of practice. His legal education at Rutgers sits alongside years of practical problem solving. He has navigated regulatory questions and litigated matters when necessary. The arc of his career shows steady engagement with legal issues and with the institutions that govern them.
Today Halpern continues to work as Of Counsel at Savo, Schalk, Gillespie, O Grodnick & Fisher, P.A., advising and assisting clients and firm attorneys on matters that span New Jersey, New York and the District of Columbia.
