About Mitterand
Mitterand Jean-Francois earned his law degree from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2020. Before turning to law he completed a master's degree in Accounting and Business Management from Liberty University in 2008 and a bachelor’s degree in International Business from Strayer University in 2004. He is licensed to practice in Maryland.
His early career traces back to military service. In 1999 he worked as a supply chain analyst for the United States Marine Corps. He later served as a military intelligence analyst for the United States Army beginning in 2003 and rose to the rank of captain by 2009. Those roles involved logistics, information analysis and working under pressure. They also exposed him to organizational systems and processes that shape how he approaches legal matters today.
After active military service, he moved into accounting and business roles. In 2008 he took a position as a senior accountant with Arthur Schuman Inc., and in 2014 he worked as an auditor for the Massachusetts Office of the State Auditor. He also has experience as an owner and investor in the private sector, having been involved with Full Spine Chiropractic, LLC starting in 2015. That mix of public-sector auditing and private business ownership informed his understanding of compliance and financial documentation.
He returned to school for law and received his J.D. in 2020. That same year he began serving as presiding lawyer at The Lincoln Law Group, LLC. He holds membership in the Maryland State Bar Association and practices under Maryland jurisdiction. His legal practice draws on the analytical skills he developed in the military and the accounting background he built in the private sector.
His work style is methodical. He emphasizes clear documentation and practical problem solving. He has handled matters that require careful review of financial records, regulatory paperwork and procedural detail. He maintains multiple offices listed under The Lincoln Law Group, LLC and operates out of the firm’s Maryland practice locations. He now handles civil litigation and transactional matters in Maryland.
