About Mitchell
Mitchell Theodore built his legal foundation at the University of Alabama, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts before returning to the same campus for law school. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2012. Those years in Tuscaloosa shaped a lawyer comfortable in the courtroom and at the negotiation table.
After finishing law school, Theodore became licensed to practice in both Alabama and Florida. He joined the ranks of local and national bar organizations early in his career, taking part in the Birmingham Bar Association and the American Association for Justice, among others. He is also a member of the Alabama Association for Justice. Memberships like these have connected him to trial lawyers and peers who work on behalf of injured parties and consumers.
His career path brought him to Cory Watson Lawyers, where he practices today. He has worked on a variety of matters at the firm and has balanced casework with court appearances. Colleagues describe him as a straightforward advocate who prepares thoroughly and prioritizes clear courtroom presentation. He is comfortable in the give-and-take of litigation, and he approaches legal problems with an eye for practical solutions.
Clients and other lawyers have found him steady during the pressure of pretrial deadlines and hearings. He handles discovery, writes motions, and takes depositions. He is equally involved in settlement discussions when resolving a case outside the courtroom makes sense.
Outside the office, his bar association activities have kept him involved in continuing legal education and the exchange of trial strategies. Those engagements serve a practical purpose: staying current on evolving rules, evidence developments, and trial procedures. He draws on those resources when preparing cases and when mentoring junior lawyers in the firm.
Theodore’s experience spans matters filed in state courts in Alabama and in venues where interstate issues arise. He is familiar with local practice in Birmingham and with the procedural expectations of Florida courts through his licensure there. He has built a practice that combines courtroom work and case management, often moving swiftly from investigation to filing to active litigation.
He is an attorney at Cory Watson Lawyers and remains active in local and national trial associations. His current practice centers on plaintiff-side civil litigation.
