About Misty

Misty Toothman combined a nonlegal undergraduate background with graduate study before moving into law. She earned a B.S. in journalism, with a minor in psychology, from Liberty University in 2000. She later completed an M.A. in American history at American Military University in 2012. Toothman returned to formal legal study at Villanova University School of Law, completing a J.D. in 2021 and an LL.M. in taxation in 2023.

Her earlier training in journalism shaped how she approaches legal problems. She learned to dig through records and to write clearly. Her history degree added context for complex research projects. Those skills proved useful in law school and later in practice, where careful analysis and clear drafting matter as much as courtroom technique.

Toothman is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania. After law school she moved into tax-related work, applying the LL.M. to both transactional and dispute matters. She has handled tax research, prepared opinions, and assisted on filings that require both legal and technical tax knowledge. Her work often involves translating dense tax rules into practical advice for clients.

In addition to technical tax matters, Toothman’s background supports work that requires detailed document review and disciplined written advocacy. She approaches client problems methodically. She values precise record-keeping and attention to procedural rules. Those habits help in contests where small factual distinctions make a large difference.

She is currently at Twin Valley Law. There she advises individuals and businesses on tax issues and related matters. Her role includes counseling on compliance questions, preparing documentation for tax positions, and supporting clients through administrative processes.

Outside the office Toothman’s combined training in journalism and history continues to inform her work. She reads tax publications and historical sources to understand how rules evolved and how they apply today. As of 2026 she practices at Twin Valley Law, handling tax and related legal matters for clients in Pennsylvania.
