About Michelle Amelia
Michelle Amelia Ferrer combined legal training and business study early in her career. She earned a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law in 2007 and later completed an MBA at American University. Her undergraduate work took place at Fordham University. The mix of degrees gave her tools for practice and for running a law firm.
After law school she established herself in two nearby jurisdictions. She holds membership in the State Bar of New Jersey and the State Bar of New York. She has been a member of the State Bar of New Jersey since 2008. She is also a member of the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey.
In 2010 she helped start Ferrer Goldfine Law Group, serving as a founding partner. The firm began under a different name, Plata Ferrer & Gutierrez LLC, and evolved into its current form over time. At the firm she took on leadership duties common to a founding partner, helping shape office operations and client intake.
Her work crosses state lines. She handles matters that arise under New York and New Jersey law and coordinates aspects of cases that touch both states. Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparing files and deliberate in courtroom and transactional settings. She draws on both her law training and her business degree when advising clients on practical outcomes.
Outside the office she has remained involved in bar associations that reflect her practice geography and community ties. She maintains an active membership in the professional groups that serve lawyers across New Jersey and New York, and she participates in the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey.
Her current practice is based at Ferrer Goldfine Law Group and centers on serving clients in matters arising in New York and New Jersey.
